Update on my journey

Wow where has time gone?
It is wild how fast time flys.... I started this blog about six months ago with the intent of updating on my weight loss journey at least once a week... Well as you can see here it is May 29th... :-)
Well, from January through April 23rd I really didn't do anything to start attaining my health goals.
On April 23rd I decided that enough was enough, I gave up bread!!! Completely gave it up, cold turkey...
And let me tell you it was not an easy task... The first day that I decided to give it up we happened to be having a family dinner at Olive Garden... Yes, you heard me correctly, OLIVE GARDEN home of the worlds best bread sticks...
I was so proud of myself, I did not have one stick of bread... This took a lot of will power...
This day marked the ending of a new beginning... I am happy to report that since that day I have not eaten one bite of bread, have cut out hidden valley ranch dressing, and am only eating 1200 calories per day.

I have recently started a boot camp style workout with a few of my friends from work and I absolutely love it.... We go to the boot camp classes twice a week, Saturdays at 6:00am and Tuesdays at 7:00pm.
I will admit that this is not an easy task as I am not a morning person at all and usually once I get home from work all I want to do is relax.... But here we are starting week 3 of an 8 week boot camp....

The goal is to workout at least 5 days per week.  We are doing other workouts such as Zumba dancing, yoga, weight training, walking, riding bikes, and lots of other fun stuff...

Today I weigh 246 lbs and have dropped an inch almost all throughout my body...

I am excited to continue on this fun path and hope that you are just as excited for me....

Day 1 of my Journey

Good Morning,
So today is Friday the 13th..... Today I will start my weight loss journey... My goal is to loose 73 lbs. My goal is that I can loose this weight in 2 years or less.  I am so tired of being overweight... I feel like I have no energy to do anything with my kids because I am sooo overweight.... I have thought about having the lap band surgery but really don't want to do that. I just want to loose the weight the same way I gained it... I have had a gym membership for about six months now and really haven't used it but maybe two weeks.... My goal is to go to the gym three times a week, and on the off days to walk for at least one hour per day.... I will change my eating habits, eat every two hours and drink 8-12 cups of water per day.  Today I begin my journey weighing 253lbs. In two years or less I would like to weigh 180 lbs... I know I can do this and I will put all of my effort into doing it.... Wish me luck...
